Gardening With Light & Color
Published in Hardcover by Cathie (Kyle) (October, 2000)
Authors: Marylyn Abbott, Clay Perry, and Marylyn Abbot
Average review score:

Excellent Reference for the Color Challenged!
The photography in Gardening With Light & Color by Marylyn Abbot, et al is stunning! Great care is taken with the choice of light (such as time of day) the choice of film - (obviously high quality) and the speed at which the image is taken. Truly, a professional photographer, with an eye for color has collected a beautiful journal of some very well planned and groomed gardens.

The artist has an eye for structure and design.

These gardens actually sing!

Because the writer is so conscious of these design elements- they are depicted in the choice of photographs and discussed within the chapters. The size of the garden is discussed and tips to avoid Dull, dreary gardens are discussed chapter after chapter.

These gardens create a mood which will be very helpful to anyone trying to choose what they want to do with their gardening space.

Another book- that I would NOT PART WITH!

Gender and Art (Art and Its Histories , So6)
Published in Paperback by Yale Univ Pr (July, 1999)
Authors: Gill Perry and Gillian Perry
Average review score:

Great book for gender/art studies majors & anyone else, who.
..is interested in the subject. This book is not only visually beautiful and of a highest print quality, it is also insightful. It discusses the subject from historical perspective (each chapter is dedicated to a different time period). It also gives as many examples as it is possible to give, and analyzes them all in great depth. Numerous illustrations to these examples are also provided. Great book to start studying gender and art as a subject.

Gender and Disorder in Early Modern Seville
Published in Paperback by Princeton Univ Pr (30 July, 1990)
Author: Mary Elizabeth Perry
Average review score:

Excellent portrait of women in history
This is a great study of the roles of women in early modern Spain. Normally, books of this nature focus on women of the nobility or elite classes. However, Perry takes an indepth look at such women as prostitutes and healers. The author also incorporates many personal stories reconstructed from a variety of sources such as court records or Inquisitional records. This is definitely a book for all with the care the author has taken in presenting a "readable" account.

Global Marketing Strategies Jeannet & hennessey
I use this book for instructing my third year marketing students who find the case study section particularly helpful. The glossy pages of international statistics make for easy reading. A very good value for money book.

Average review score:

Very Helpful Book
I found this book to be extremely helpful in working through the complex rules of ASCE 7-98. The authors selected examples which introduce some of the pitfalls that are common in apply the standards provisions. I used the book to validate an excel spreadsheet for Wind calculations, and I only found a couple of minor errors in the entire book.

The Harvest: A Novel
Published in Paperback by Belhue Pr (June, 1997)
Authors: Perry Brass and Tom Laine
Average review score:

"Couldn't put the sucker down." (The Harvest, Perry Brass)
As a relatively new reader of sci-fi, I have found Perry Brass has a way of keeping the reader on the edge of his seat. His trilogy of Mirage, followed by the sequel Circles and concluded with Arthur were beautifully written, as well as erotically stimulating and his imagination unique. He continues his ability to stimulate, excite, and scare the pants off his reader with his book The Harvest. It's not a book one can review in a few lines, it's a book that needs to be read to be appreciated

Average review score:

High Island Treasure
I loved this book. The adventures happened on an island in Maine like ones near where I live. Mrs. Katherine says the twins can keep a treasure of "enormous value" that is hidden in her house, if they can find it! There is lots of excitement and a surprise ending.
